Khamu notch flute sror

Khamu musician Luang Namtha

freshly cut bamboo tube open at both ends. The top end is cut in a V-shape and a  U-shaped notch is made just under an inch from the top. Short ones are about 18” long, larger ones around  78 cm. Shorter ones  have a thumb hole and one or two finger holes; the player also stops the end of the tube to change the note. The longer one has only only one hole and is closed at the bottom end.
